Fiancé and Fiancée

Lets play Today I learned...

So I had always seen this word spelled as both fiancé and fiancée. This always confused me, but I never looked into it much. I honestly just figured it was one of those different country things like color (colour) or honor (honour). However, today I learned this.

"fiancé is a male. fiancée is a female. A man who is engaged to be married is called his partner's fiancé; a woman similarly engaged is called her partner's fiancée."

So, thank you yahoo answers. I learned something new today.
