So, In today's blog, I'm actually pulling an e-mail I wrote to myself on January 13, 2013 and sent it to May 1, 2013. Then, I'm going to basically write a response to it.
Dear FutureMe,
I'm sending this letter to....May 1, 2013. You should be receiving this letter just about the time you'll be giving Bonita your 30 day notice so that you can keep Mr. Edgeworth.
It's January now and I already know that the time to move out of this place will be here before I know it. Soon, I will be packing up all the things I finally got around to unpacking and moving them to another place I will come to call home.
Soon enough, I will see this apartment as I now see my last one...no longer mine, yet filled with my memories.
We've had a lot of good times in this apartment Bee. This is where our Tuesday nights with Dani began (although they were originally another night of the week, which one i can't even recall now). This is where Lance and I finally came out about our relationship. This was where I finally got my chance to live with Lance instead of having to sleep in a car to be together.
This is where I have wanted a child, but learned that I have enough trouble with my cat that acts far too much like a human. He is constantly wanting my attention and needs to be gotten onto about pooping on the floor and getting in windows.
This is where I have decided that Lance is the love of my life and he will be in every home following this one.
This is where I began to crochet and stepped out of my teenage years.
With this apartment, we will leave many memories behind, but it is for the sake of creating new, even better ones.
I wish you the best of luck in your next place. Make sure to make plenty of good memories there!
Also, here is a picture of you and Lance when you first moved into the place. Look how much you've changed and think of how much you've grown.
Dear Past Me,
I had a hard time believing that this apartment could be better than the one on Pennsylvania Street. There were so many good memories that happened there. I'm two months away from the end of my lease in this one now, and so much has happened.
In our last apartment, Lance and I came out about our relationship. In this one, he proposed and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. In our last apartment, by Tuesday nights with Dani began. In this apartment, I spent drunken nights with disc golf buddies listening to music and pretending like we can rap.
In this apartment, we added yet another member to our family: an adorable cat named Maya. She is just too precious. She's soft as a teddy bear and as sweet as caramel. This is the apartment where I finally turned the big 2-1, and spent many drunken nights confessing my love to Lancelot and telling his friends that I'm glad their not scary Frankenstein monsters.
Here, I have learned so much more about myself and where I want to go in life. I feel like I've got a much better grasp on life and I couldn't be happier. This apartment has been a blessing. Our lives have gotten so much better since we moved here. We'll be staying here for another year when our lease is up, so I can't wait to see what other adventures we'll have while we're here.
I'm attaching a photo of Lancelot and I now just to show how much we've changed.
Coming up Tomorrow: A picture of you and your best friends and how you met them.
